Dr Amir Yassari is a Specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy as well as a certified Hypnotherapist. Currently, he is working at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in the Outpatient Service for patients with affective disorders. He has specialized in the treatment of patients with depression, especially in elite athletes. He has over 10 years of experience in the field as clinician and researcher and is currently investigating the effect of music-based therapies on cognitive function and depressive symptoms.
Next to his work at the UKE, he is offering psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as hypnotherapy in his private practice - Eppendorfer Weg.
Dr Yassari is the co-founder of the Mind-Brain Forum (www.mindbrainforum.de) a blog dedicated to publishing articles raising awareness on mental health issues especially stigmatization.
He also holds teaching appointments at the Medical University, Faculty of Physiotherapy and the Nursing School and is proficient in conveying knowledge and conducting workshops.
